Road to Harlem

Event Description:

On behalf of NYCPS, Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH) in conjunction with the CUNY K16 Deeper Learning Initiative (DLI) Team, would like to host an event to: Celebrate the Harlem Renaissance—a time when African American art, music, and literature transformed American culture. This event will feature interactive exhibits, a live performance, and engaging discussions about key figures like Langston Hughes, Claude McKay, Jack Johnson and the New York Wanderers. Attendees will explore history from Reconstruction and the Great Migration to the fight against segregation. Join Early College P-TECH students, who are simultaneously earning college 2-yr degrees from NYCCT, for a late afternoon of learning, creativity, and community as we honor the legacy of the Harlem Renaissance and its lasting impact on Gen Z. We will need standing tables, 4-5 desks, a table for refreshments, a projector, and access to WiFi.
